Mission Statement

Hope Outreach Ministries is a community-oriented church in Newark, NJ, with a great outreach ministry, sharing God’s transforming power and unconditional love, teaching from the Bible, building people of faith, love, power, and financial literacy, and a space filled with God’s love.  

Our Staff

Pastor Darren Gulston, also a Rhema Bible College graduate, answered the call on his life and joined his father in ministry in 1994. With his father’s blessings, Hope Outreach Ministries was launched in 2018.

Faced with a health challenge, Apostle Kerry Gulston gave Pastor Darren a charge and a knife before his transition, which symbolized “the cutting-edge ministry he was now to continue.”

Pastor Darren Gulston is our Senior Pastor and currently leading Hope Outreach Ministries and his mission is to introduce people to GOD’S TRANSFORMING POWER!

According to the word of our Father in Matthew 16:18, “The gates of hell shall not prevail against the church.” This ministry pushes back those gates serving the inner city, starting with Newark, NJ.

Devoted Servants of the Lord

Hope Outreach Ministries in Newark, NJ traces its roots back to 75 years ago when Pastor Lula B. King, the great grandmother of Pastor Darren Gulston, started her own ministry.  After her transition years later, Apostle Kerry Gulston started ministering in his basement in Queens, NY.

The Lord spoke to him, saying: “I have given you a cutting-edge ministry. Some will accept you; some will reject you. But you say what I tell you to say and do what I tell you to do!” Three years later, the Lord sent him to Harlem, NY, where he started Faith Mission Christian Fellowship Church and served as Pastor and founder for over 30 years!

Apostle Kerry Gulston touched thousands of lives with his down-to-earth style of teaching and preaching. He was a Rhema Bible College graduate and an astute student of the word of God. His love for the people equipped him to teach the word boldly and accurately!

Challenges are part of everyone’s lives. However, you don’t have to go through them alone. At Hope Outreach Ministries in Newark, NJ, we believe that God will never leave us through our highs and lows. We are a community of Christians believers that aim to nourish the spirit, soul and body through the teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We encourage everyone to join us as we celebrate our faith and honor our ever-loving God. Come to our service every Sunday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

We’re One Big Family

With open arms, at Hope Outreach Ministries, everyone is welcome and come as you are.

Everyone is treated like family. We are to love one another as Christ has loved us (John 13:34). If you’re having troubles or you just want to share life’s joys with us, you’re more than welcome to do so.

Building People of Faith, Love and Power

We want to spread the goodness of the Lord and touch more lives; however, we cannot do this alone. The harvest is plenteous but the laborers are few (Matthew 9:37).
